Essential Questions
1. How does change impact our education?
Change impacts our education because different aspects of education are constantly transforming, as mentioned in terms of change with interdisciplinary connections. Teachers are constantly coming up with new ways to change how they teach a class and assess student learning, in addition to the material changing over time as new discoveries are being made.
2. Is change always positive? If not, how could it negative?
Change can be both positive and negative. Change can be viewed as negative, for example, in political ways. Depending on political beliefs, people can find a new political leader being elected as a negative one. Change isn't necessarily a concrete good or bad thing - it depends on who or what the change is occurring.
3. How can we incorporate changes from other disciplines into artmaking?
An example of how we can incorporate interdisciplinary changes into artmaking is with the use of technology. Technology is just as important to art as it is to any other subject, and as artists we must learn to use it to our advantage. As techonlogy advances, it's important to incorporate projects that coincide with new programs and softwares. For example, incorporating photoshop into lessons and projects allows students to gain experience with a new medium.
4. How has artmaking changed over time?
Artmaking has changed over time as new movements are being established. Art has progressed in terms of movements like Neolithic and Paleolithic ancient art, Renaissance art, Impressionism, or Expressionism - all playing a part in the development of modern artistic movements. Different artistic styles today would probably be rejected if they were exhibited centuries ago, but because the opinion of "what art is" has changed, so has the acceptance of more abstract ways of producing work.
